Terms of service

Last updated 21 October 2026

These terms cover buying and using Smelter’s departments. They are written to be read. If anything here conflicts with your rights under Australian law, the law wins.

Who you’re dealing with

Smelter is run by Campsite Studios, ABN 76 741 354 178, in Australia. To confirm: the legal name of the entity that holds this ABN Write to us at hello.campsitestudio@gmail.com.

What you’re buying

Each department is a service: Smelter does the work and gives you the record of it. Marketing is Practice Presence, IT is Secure Baseline and HR is Rosters and Records, run in Minishift. What each one includes and leaves out is listed on the pricing page.

What Smelter won’t do:

  • No phone helpdesk and no on-site visits. IT is remote.
  • No legal advice, award interpretation disputes, dismissals or workplace investigations. We point you to an employment lawyer or the Fair Work Ombudsman.
  • No patient testimonials, in any form.

What stays yours, and what you decide

  • You approve anything before it’s published under your name. Ahpra treats whoever authorises an advertisement as the advertiser, so your approval matters.
  • You stay the employer of your staff, and you or your bookkeeper still pay them.
  • Your Google Business Profile, Meta pages, ad accounts and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace stay in your business’s name. You pay those providers directly for ads and licences.
  • Your data is yours, and so is the work made for you once it’s paid for. To confirm: the licence wording for Smelter’s own templates and tools

How Smelter’s staff reach your account

Smelter’s staff can open a client’s account only when the account’s owner grants them access, for a set number of days (from 1 to 366). Access ends by itself when that time runs out, and the owner can revoke it at any time. Staff without a live grant can’t see anything in the account.

Only the owner can grant or revoke staff access. Each grant and revocation is recorded in the account’s audit log. Staff never sign off their own work: sign-offs are yours.

Prices and paying

Each department has its own monthly price, shown on the pricing page. You pay for the first month when you start, then monthly in advance. There is no free trial.

  • Run two departments and both are 10% off. Run all three and all three are 15% off. It doesn’t matter when each was added. Add-ons never count towards the discount and are never discounted.
  • A department added mid-month is charged at full price for the rest of that month. Its discount starts on your next bill.
  • Buy all three departments in one checkout and the one-off IT setup fee is waived.
  • If Campsite Studios is registered for GST, prices include it and your tax invoice shows it. Until it is registered, no GST is charged.
  • Card surcharges are banned from 1 October 2026. Smelter adds no surcharge for paying by card.

If prices or services change

We give you 30 days’ written notice of a change to a price or to what a department includes. You can cancel before the change takes effect without paying anything more. Nothing you’ve already paid changes.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any department online, any time, from the Billing page, in no more steps than it took to buy. It stops at the end of the month you’ve paid for.

Cancel a department within 20 days of starting it and we refund its first month in full.

The full rules, and what happens to your data, are on the cancellation page.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

A business that buys services for less than $100,000 counts as a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law. The consumer guarantees then apply to Smelter’s work: it must be done with due care and skill, be fit for any purpose you told us about, and be done within a reasonable time. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees. They can’t be excluded.

Where the law allows it, our liability for not meeting a guarantee is limited to supplying the service again or paying what it costs to have it supplied again. To confirm: this limitation’s wording under section 64A of the Australian Consumer Law

These are standard-form terms, so the unfair contract terms rules apply to them. Since 9 November 2023, an unfair term in a standard-form contract with a small business (fewer than 100 employees, or turnover under $10 million) is void, and using one can attract penalties. We have tried to keep these terms fair: month to month, no exit fees, no clawbacks, notice before changes, and limits that apply to both of us. To confirm: the mutual liability caps

Emails

We send the email your account needs: sign-in links, notices about your account and your sign-offs, and invoices. These are transactional messages, which the Spam Act 2003 allows without separate consent. We send nothing promotional without your consent, and anything we do send names Campsite Studios as the sender and has a working unsubscribe link.

If Smelter ever sends email or SMS for your business, the Spam Act applies to both of us: you confirm that the people on your list agreed to hear from you, and we never use bought lists.

AI

AI drafts and checks the work, and a person reviews every piece before it reaches you. Your data isn’t used to train AI models. The details are on the How we use AI page.

If we stop trading

Every account Smelter works in is already in your business’s name, so nothing has to be handed back. You can export every deliverable, report, log and invoice from the portal at any time, in files that open without us. If we ever stop offering a department, you’ll get written notice and time to move. To confirm: the notice period

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of To confirm: the state or territory. The Australian Consumer Law applies wherever you are in Australia.

Questions and complaints

Email hello.campsitestudio@gmail.com. If we can’t sort it out between us, you can contact the consumer protection agency in your state or territory, or the ACCC.
